The sun was shining for the final round of the NFCC 10 Series on the notorious P170/10 course at Stoney Cross Airfield. A strong tailwind made for a speedy first leg, before turning around and heading straight back into it. Dodging the bovine natives seemed to be the order of the night, with several riders reporting having to steer clear of cows in the road. 

It was a clean sweep of the podium for NFCC’s own Club Riders on the night with Chris Harris crossing the line 22 seconds quicker than Phill Brown, the pair finishing in 22:35 and 22:57 respectively. Joe Shepherd rounded out the top three for NFCC with a time of 24:13. Phill’s consistency over the season allowed him to comfortably wrap up the overall victory in Division One of the Ten Series.

Phil Harris (NFCC) finished sixth overall on the night in 26:11 and as the first Division 2 rider, he picked up enough points to seal victory in Division 2. His nearest rival, Jon Chadwick, missed out on gaining any final points by completing his required marshal duty. Division three was sealed with Mick Anglim also completing his marshalling.

Five ladies joined the fun with Natalie Green (NFCC) the quickest over the line (26:15), Michelle Walters (Bournemouth Arrows) in second (28:28) and Emma Clayton (NFCC) rounding out the top three (30:32). Strong performances were also made by NFCC’s Jess Fitzwarren and Catherine Pascoe in 30:52 and 30:56. The extra points for Catherine validated her stronghold and victory in Division four.
