All the latest news, events, and results from NFCC Members from this weeks two-wheeled adventures…
With autumn fast approaching, it seems midweek activities are on the decrease, but if you do find yourself out and about representing NFCC, don’t forget to jot down a few words, snap a few photos and send them over to press@newforestcc.co.uk.

Saturday Club Ride

With threats of rain on the radar, a limited bunch of hardy riders made their way out for the Saturday Club Ride…
Leaving Brockenhurst and heading across to Beaulieu, 11 riders were braced for the worst but it seems like the weatherman wasn’t quite on par this week. Switching to a northerly direction after reaching Beaulieu, riders made their way through the lanes of Woodfalls and Winsor before continuing north towards Romsey.

A quick dash back across the forest with a concerted chain gang effort across the old airfield left riders aiming for the Potting Shed in Hyde for a mid-ride refuel where the heavens opened, but closed again before riders got back on the road. Looping through Ringwood and a quick ascent of Braggers Lane, the depleted group made their way back to Brock safe and sound with no dramas this week – cheers Barry!

Sunday Club Ride

A yellow weather warning for Sunday Morning with a forecast of stormy showers and high winds didn’t lead to much, but it seems it was enough to deter any Sunday riders – or at least those on Strava – from venturing out.

Wessex Cyclocross Rd 7: Swanmore

This week’s cyclocross was the first muddy event of the season. The usual 4 New Forest riders made their way to Swanmore Motocross track for a tough course. This week included some sharp hills, twists and turns and of course mud. Find a full report by CLICKING HERE.

British Masters Cycle Racing Track Champs

Bob Jolliffe crossed the border into sunny wales at the weekend for the British Masters Cycle Racing Track Championships. Pictured here (left) after winning Gold in the Group G (70-74 years) 2km pursuit at the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales, along with Group H and I winners. Bob managed to clock a very respectable time of 3 mins 21.185 secs. – an outstanding achievement for someone who, in his own words “had a dicky ticker and a kidney transplant.” Looking back on the event, Bob said “I need to gear up a bit next year as I had some left in the tank after the eight laps…”
Looking forward to seeing how you get on next year!
