Riders were overjoyed to find an unexpectedly strong breeze blowing across the heath for round three of the NFCC Ten Series this week. A delightful south-easterly meant riders were battling into an almost direct headwind for the first five and a half miles, before never really discovering an advantage from a tailwind before crossing the line and heading back to the HQ.

Strong performances were displayed across the field despite the wind and it was Hamish Hunter from VC Venta who completed the course in the fastest time – the junior covering 10 miles in 24m 43s. NFCC’s Jay Tarrant continues to impress with his performances both on and off the road, finishing second on the night in 25m 27s – on a road bike! Sam Cooper (Andover) rounded off the podium with a solid 25m 31s. 

Special mention this week goes to Ben George (NFCC) who finished just 34 seconds off the podium – only 48 hours earlier, Ben completed the gruelling Mallorca 312, a 194-mile challenge with near 15,000ft of climbing! Chapeau!
