Gravel n Grog Tuesday 24/09/24
Looks like we have got lucky again for tonight’s Gravel n Grog club ride as theweather is set fair.
Might be time though if you can, to fit the mudguards.
I had been concerned that we might have to curtail GnG as it gets darker because of a bye-law that I had heard about concerning using the forest at night (and it not being permitted) but I have looked everywhere I can think of and found no such bye-law!.
In any case main concern I think is that a group with bright lights might spook wildlife, which I think is a valid concern so I think we need to be cautious and keep our eyes peeled, particularly for Deer. I know we have a lot of wildlife enthusiasts in the group so this should be well supported. We”ll try to give ponies a particularly wide berth as they do seem jumpier at night.
Whether or not there will be support for GnG as it gets darker, wetter and colder is a matter of conjecture anyway but we’ll keep it as an option for now. Use the wattsapp group if you need to know if anyone else is riding.
If being cold and wet isn’t horrible enough for members though an alternative will soon be available on Tuesday nights as Phill Phillip Grant will soon begin the clubs official club Chaingang on Zwift.
