NFCC 15 Challenge Aggregate Rd.3

The final round of the NFCC 15 Challenge Aggregate on P164/15 was held under almost perfect conditions, with Sotonia’s Ant Gritton setting a new known course record.

Fourteen riders signed up for the event from Matley Wood for two laps of the Beaulieu triangle, with Ant Gritton (Sotonia) slashing 19 seconds off the previous course record, setting the fastest time on the night of 32m51s. Paul Lockyer (NFCC) was only 8 seconds of his own NFCC club-member course record, crossing the line for second place in 32m56s. Ben George (NFCC) continues his strong season with a third place on the night, finishing the 15 mile course in 34m09s. Sien vdP (NFCC) was the fastest woman on the night in 39m13s.

The NFCC 15 Challenge Aggregate series issues the top 5 riders on the night 5 through to 1 points for the first five NFCC finishers. The overall series positioning counts a rider’s two best scoring rounds for the overall classification. Paul Lockyer’s dominant late return to time trialling this season will see his name added to the New Forest Circuits Shield for a second time, despite missing the first round of the series, Lockyer has been the fastest club rider for the final two events, taking maximum points. Guy Smith and Ben George clinched a joint second place overall in the 2024 series.
