Chocks away for Round 6, The South Downs Social Wessex CX League, Popham

Bright sunshine greeted the NFCC members at Round 6 of the Wessex CX league at Popham Airfield hosted by Pedalon & NHRC.

Jay Tarrant was out first in the super competitive Vet 40 class, back and forth all race with two of his fellow competitors managing to drop one on the penultimate lap then an all out sprint to overtake the other only to realise he’d confused the start and finish line so had to dig deep to complete the lap and stay ahead for an extended podium 5th place.

Catherine Pascoe up next with a great 2nd place finish in the Vet 60 category.

Both Joseph Shepherd and Reece Dawson were last up in the Senior race. Joe may not be fully recovered from his epic 3 Peaks Race stating ” Legs, legs, wherefore art thou legs!” and Reece’s cyclocross journey improving with less crashes! 33rd and 50th place finishes respectively.

A week off now as the next round is on 5th November at Kingsclere.

The next round is at Popham on the 22nd of October.
