Grey skys threatened the horizon over the north of the forest for the first NFCC X Sotonia interclub time trial of the season. The event fell into Sotonia’s “road bikes only” series so in fairness, the times of NFCC Riders would only count towards the 10 series if they were on a drop bar bike with no beneficial aero equipment.

The hilly course was well suited to non-aero bikes and Phill Brown took full advantage as the first NFCC rider over the line – completing the 10 mile course in 25:12. After a comfortable victory at the first NFCC TT of the season, Charlie Hill was the second NFCC rider in 25:20 with Gavin Robinson third for the Club in 28:18.

Ray Claridge enjoyed his ride remarking “I should have probably stayed at home and walked the dog…” when he returned to HQ after the event.
