Ray Claridge to ride JoG to Land’s End
In 4 weeks’ time Ray will be setting off to ride solo over 7 days from John O’Groats to Lands End, covering over 920 miles with 45,000 feet of climbing.
Ray was due to ride in May and finish on his 50th birthday; Coronavirus put paid to that, but now it’s back on!
It’s going to be 7 long days in the saddle, averaging 130 miles a day. Ray says “It will certainly be a challenge for me as I’ve not ridden big mileage multidays beyond 2 days before”.
He has also decided to do some fund-raising for a new Gang Warily Scout and Guide HQ, which is his old Scout group. He says that he got a lot out of Scouting when he was younger and it feels right to give a little back.
He would be grateful for any donations to what he says will be his one and only fund-raising campaign!
We’ll look forward to updates on the club Facebook page during his ride ,if he has he energy!
