Wessex CX 24/25 – Rd.4: Reading
A report on Round 4 of the 2024/25 Wessex Cyclocross League from Jay T:
Tough course today with having very few places to recover, ground conditions nearly perfect apart from the bottom of Hilly McHillface being very slick, which meant running was called for on most laps.
A long uphill start meant I burnt far too many matches trying to stay with the front group!
I then dropped back a few places as I desperately tried to recover after my early exuberance.
Once slightly recovered, I got into some good back and forth racing with my usual kamakasi style then had to dig pretty deep to steadily pull a small gap with each remaining lap to cross the line and get on the podium in 3rd.
