After the sunny weekend, there was a bit of a chill in the air for the evening 25. Rain looked possible, but didn’t fall though there was a very stiff mostly helpful wind. Some sections of the course were very fast, with (for me) a few scary moments with gusts on the swooping sections. Traffic lights on the course played havoc with the results; a few of us also suffering the herd of cows for a stop, only to be stopped by the lights further on. Roger did his very best to cater for time lost, though if you only ended up being slowed that didn’t count!
In the end there were some very fast times and at least one PB for Catherine Pascoe. Paul Lockyer managed possibly the first NFCC sub 55 ride on a club course, taking over a minute and a half of his time for last year. Ben Boardman came back to stretch his legs and Eliot Chilton did a good ride on a road bike.
Weekend roundup – let Antony know if you have any other news. Bob Jolliffe went to the R25/3H overflow event to record a 1:04:16. Catherine Pascoe rode the National VTTA 10 overflow event for a PB of 26:45. Antony Green rode the VTTA 10 championships in 20:07, results still pending.

Former long-term New Forest CC secretary Geoff Smith is in Southampton General Hospital with a broken leg after falling from his bike on the A337 at […]
Update from Bob Jolliffe with his weekend activities – New Forest CC’s 66-year-old Bob Jolliffe had a brilliant social weekend at the League of Veteran Racing Cyclists’ Track Championships at the Derby Arena Velodrome, even if his attempts at racing were lacklustre. Despite only finishing in one event of two entered, the Group F (age […]
