Weekend Round-up 8th July

Bob Jolliffe rode the middle markers evening 25 on the P884b/25 during the week, an event for those who have never gone sub 57 for a 25. Bob recorded 1.06.47.

Also during the week, Russell Wynn rode the final Heath Road race. The only NFCC representative in the Vet’s race, Russell was very pleased with his performance, improving his positioning and tactics in comparison with the first event a few weeks back. Russell finished 11th from 28 starters.

Stuart Peckham, Catherine Pascoe, Gary Lock, Richard Parker and Antony Green rode the BJW 25 on the P415 Upton bypass course, the Wessex VTTA 25 championship. The wind wasn’t helpful and picked up through the course of the morning. Stuart Peckham partnered Mary Corbett as part of her ‘Tandem Tart Challenge’ rides. In addition to the wind, a soft front tyre which deteriorated through the event, caused Stuart some difficulties and a few scary moments at the roundabouts. They managed to finish however, and Stuart still had to ride home having ridden to the event. Catherine Pascoe managed to beat her standard time which was her aim and Antony placed 3rd in the Wessex VTTA championship and 6th overall. Gary Lock, adding a bit of training in before his next Ironman event, was pleased with his time as a triathlete, competing against time trial specialists and finishing 13th overall. Richard Parker finished 28th overall.
