New Forest CC were joint team winners in the first event of the ‘Tandem Tart Challenge’ on Saturday, a 10 mile TT on the P164. Stuart Peckham (23:28 and 18th overall), Ray Claridge (22:51 and 10th overall) and Antony Green (21:24 and 3rd overall) made up the team, unfortunately Paul Lockyer was a non starter due to health issues. VC St Raphael shared the team honours. Heavy rain at Lyndhurst made the event start a challenge, but conditions turned dry a quarter of a mile in to the course. Hopefully some of the club rode one of Sunday’s 3 reliability rides.
On Sunday Catherine Pascoe came 5th in the Grand Vet female category at Crow in the Southern XC MTB championships. She had also ridden the Saturday TT into 44th place (29:21).
Stuart Peckham rode to 23rd place in the Moreton road race during the week, saying he struggled to remember road race tactics! He rode in with the chase group behind the winners.
