O’Hara returns to top spot in 7 mile blast

The last mid week TT of the season got underway on Tuesday evening on the quirky Bull Hill, 7 mile course around Norleywood. A cool Northwesterly breeze ensured that the 30 riders were made to work for the whole seven miles, along with some errant livestock, kept the field alert. Nick O’Hara returning from an early season injury started to demonstrate the sort of form he was in at the start of the season filled with high expections. Nick triumphed in a respectable time of 15.47, averaging 26.6mph. All season there has been only a few seconds between Saha Ring and James Bannister, and this was no different as Sasha edged James into third by a megre 2 seconds, recording 15.56 and 15.58 respectively. Former clubman Martin Beale representing VC ST Raphael came home fourth in 16.24.

New Forest Cycling Club would like to thank all participating riders from clubs around the area in making the summer evening series such a wonderful success. Only one event was lost to bad weather and Time Trialling in the Forest continues to be as popular as ever. The next event will be on Sunday 31/08/14 on the popular P164 Boltons Bench course, first rider off at 09:30am.
