New Forest Cycling Club kicked off their first club Time Trial on Sunday ahead of a packed 2016 programme. The event was run on the sporting P334 course, a scenic route from Holmsley Tea Rooms heading to Lyndhurst before looping back towards Burley and finishing close to the start. With the combination of Mothering Sunday and the bitterly cold weather, numbers for the event were not surprisingly low and a hearty field of 14 took to the course. It was a good opportunity to blew the cob webs away in preparation for the 10 series events that start early in April. The honours went to Nick Buck in a highly competitive time of 25.41 ahead of Stuart Peckham in 27.16 who held off Eliot Wilkes by 11 seconds with a very impressive time of 27.27. Peter Wilson representing Bournemouth Arrows was the fastest private rider clocking 27.23. Aleks Burlinson made a good come back ride having been concentrating on Iron Man triathlons last season and recorded 32.19.
