New Forest Cycling Club needs hungry members and their friends or family to assist in eating a super three-course dinner on Saturday, November 9.
Phil Underwood is getting somewhat (ie extremely) worried about the lack of interest being shown so far in the Annual Club Dinner and Prize Presentation at the Crown Hotel in Lyndhurst.
Up until Monday evening’s committee meeting Phil, who is organising the event, had only had two applications for tickets and says he is “desperate” to sell more.
Committee members helped him out by dipping into their pockets and handing over 26 quid each (and some even dipped even deeper and forked out double for their spouses, too).
But lots more are needed to make the evening a super soaraway success.
We have more than 100 members. Okay, we know some have other commitments (like children or other family), but some of you must want to go.
It is genuinely a great evening out with like-minded mates; and you don’t have to dress up too much. Smart casual will do just fine. And you might even end up with an award at the prize presentation, or go home with a box of chocs, a bottle of vino, or some other goodies from the draw.
The bar is not expensive and has real ale as well as lagers, wines and spirits. And you can even book a room in the hotel if you plan on (over-) indulging a bit.
New Forest CC club event regular Gary Allen will be making a speech and, as he knows many members, expect a bit of leg-pulling, in addition to the serious stuff.

BUT BE QUICK: HE NEEDS TO PROVIDE THE HOTEL WITH A FIRM ATTENDANCE FIGURE VERY SOON.

Starter: Chicken Liver Parfait, Tian of Prawns or Tomato and Roasted Pepper Soup;
Mains: Roast Sirloin of Beef, Fillet of Seabass, Honey Roast Loin of Pork or Bell Peppers stuffed with Sweet Chilli Veggies;
Dessert: Lemon Tart with Raspberry Coulis, Chocolate Brownie with Ice Cream or Fresh Berry Tartlet and Cream.
