Green shoots to the top in Autumn series

As the evenings start to draw in, New Forest CC held the opening on the Autumn series on Sunday morning on the P164 Boltons Bench course. The weather conditions were changeable and with heavy showers forecast a limited field of 15 riders took to the start line and hoped for the best conditions. Antony Green was the fastest NFCC rider home in 23.11. Antony has had an excellent first season back with the club and maintained his fine form with this ride. Antony had over a minute from Graham Lenton in second place who recorded 24:33. A slightly disappointed Graham had hoped to get close to 24 minutes, but with a disrupted start to his season due to a fall has always played catch up. Graham commented that he was looking forward to an uninterrupted autumn and winter to start next season strong. Tom Butler had a strong ride to finish third in 25:23, but also took the scalp of former club champion Stuart Peckham in the process, who recorded a time of 26:00.

Matthew Downie representing Eden Veranda was the fastest rider home in the field in an impressive time of 22:54. Gary Ferrett,  25.01 from Hants RC was the second non club rider ahead of Alan Emmott from Fareham Wheelers in 25:23. For full results please look at the NFCC results page
