Once again Steve Whitewick and Julian Jenkinson were a class apart from the rest of the field on Easter Sunday in the New Forest CC strongman 25 mile TT on the sporting P335 course, which takes in Brockenhurst, Rhinefield, Holmsley and Burley. Spring was definitely in the air as the riders were treated to fairly benign conditions, and temperatures started to climb during the event, causing some riders to overheat. There was a small field of 15 riders for the event, and such was Whitewick and Jenkinson’s performance they were the first riders that passed the finishing line, even though they were the last to start. The pair seared their way round the 25 mile course in an astonishing time of 58:03 at an average of nearly 26 miles an hour. 2014 club champion Stuart Peckham was the first NFCC rider home in 1:03:16 followed by Stephen Skinner (1:06:52). Samantha Alpin came in third in a fabulous time of 1:10:16. Peter Hawker, Mike Jefferies and Clare Gronow made up the top NFCC riders.
