The New Forest Cycling Club

Club Awards Ceremony

With the boxing Day 10 successful completed it is now time to look ahead to 2019!
Along with the club Cyclocross race on the 20th January (come and watch or take part, event signed from Charles Lane Bagnum, Crow) one of the first events we have to look forward in the New Year is the club awards event, to celebrate the successes of 2018.
The event will be held on Saturday 26th of January in the afternoon at Brockenhurst Village Hall which is the location for the Thursday night Turbo training sessions, starting from 12:45.
We took the decision to try something different this year, with ever
declining numbers for the more formal awards, so hopefully we will see a good turnout. It should be a less formal and more relaxed affair, and it has been timed to allow for people to still get their Saturday ride completed.

11 club members have age related record certificates to be awarded, and a further 8 club members have won the new non-timetrialling related awards, in national/international events.

Planned timings for the afternoon are below.
·         12:45 – Arrival at the hall for a 1PM start.
·         13:00 – Buffet
·         14:00 – RAAM talk and questions (we might hopefully have a
guest with one of the riders coming along)
·         14:45 – Club awards, expanded this year to include awards for
other activities and achievements beyond just the TT trophies.
We will also have certificates to present for all Age related and
out right TT records through the year (There were a lot this year!)
·         15:30 – 16:30 – Chat / bike jumble
·         17:00 – Vacate the hall
For the buffet, we’ll need to order in advance and get an idea of numbers, so for those looking to attend, we were hoping to get cheques in advance. The cost will be £12.50 to cover the buffet and hall costs. Cheques for £12.50 – Payable to New Forest CC, can be sent to

Second TT goes ahead

Seven riders braved deceptively sunny but very chilly, windy conditions. Barry Hards in full TT kit came home in first place, Phil Jones the only other rider to come close to his time. George Weller (Junior) took part in his first TT and chose a tough day to do so. See Gerry’s photos in the […]

Wind scuppers first TT

In spite of a good number of volunteer marshals, the wind prevented the first club TT of the year taking place due to a fallen tree on the course. Hopefully the weather will improve for next weekend.
